Don't worry too much about the chip in the gelcoat. Just ask the factory for a pot of the right colour and get some MEKP catalyst. Mix it up and fill up the chip slightly proud. Then rub down with wet and dry paper of finer and finer grades finishing with rubbing compound and T cut and polish. I have repaired chips in my gelcoat twice now (both times around the hole for the exhaust manifold) and I have been astounded at how well it comes out.

Hi Tim and Chris
Your car is looking good. Almost there now.
